If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales."

Let's Read

At TAAL, we don’t just tell stories; we read them. Reading enhances cognitive skills, sharpens listening, and builds attention spans.
We are here to ignite the spark of imagination through the deliberate act of reading aloud. A child’s mind doesn’t grow through facts alone. It grows through listening. Through imagining. Through the quiet space between a reader’s voice and a child’s wandering thoughts.

Stories do more than entertain.
They build imagination before ambition.

This is what we protect. This is what we sustain.

What Are Book Reading Centres?

Our Book Reading Centres are not buildings. They are sanctuaries, spaces within neighbourhoods where children gather weekly, freely, without pressure or judgement. Here, they listen. They ask. They borrow books to take home. They discover that reading is not a task. It’s an adventure.

Every Book Reading Session Includes:

  • Storybooks that spark imagination
  • Trained volunteer readers
  • Children aged 7–14 learning together
  • Safe neighbourhood spaces with free access
  • Books children can borrow and take home

Listening → Reading → Lifelong learning

The People Behind Every Story

Every Book Reading Centre is powered by volunteers who show up every week with stories, patience and encouragement. They create a warm, welcoming space where children can explore books, ask questions and discover the joy of reading.

But their role goes beyond reading aloud. Through regular interaction, conversations and encouragement, volunteers help children build confidence, express themselves, stay curious and develop a lifelong habit of reading.

They don’t just open books. They open possibilities.

Help Keep the Stories Alive
